Bethany does not at present do the program from the Australian Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential, however, her close friend Billee does. From what we understand AIAHP offers a "complete" program covering physical, intellectual, dietary and other aspects to maximise a disabled or brain injured child's potential. It is expensive. From what we know of it: - Physical side is based on patterning exercises; we have opted instead for an ABR based approach (refer to therapies section).
- Sensory play to improve awareness and stimulate
- Nutritional plan - which covers supplements including vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, fish oil and others, which we have implemented to some degree for Beth already. It also suggests using a goats milk based formula rather than cows milk or soy based. Avoidance of any colours, preservatives, additives, sugar or milk products.
- Respiratory plan - don't have much understanding of this - but to assist breathing.
Check Billee's or AIAHP website for more information. |
